Several large and prosperous mines can be found throughout the mountains that dominate the eastern border of the North Kingdom. Indeed, it is because of the success of these mines that the North Kingdom has found some measure of prosperity, despite its harsh climate and unforgiving landscape. For the most part, the owners of the mines are happy to work with the Dryads to minimize the environmental impact of their operations. Others, however, seek to maximize their profits, even if that means hiding the true extent of their operations from the Dryads—a very dangerous gamble.
